Also make sure there are no items hanging off the baby jacket that they could pull on, much like the button, and then try to put into their mouth. Those jackets might be cute, but they can be a bit on the dangerous side.
You should also think about the material used on it when buying a baby jacket. Though it might be tempting to get a blend, some babies have very sensitive skin. For the most part, cotton is one of the best materials for a baby jacket. You can also find other types of material that are natural and will not irritate. If you find your baby is breaking out, consider the types of materials for the jacket, and for other baby clothing items as well. It might even be your detergent causing the irritation. Remember that soft and cute are great for all clothing items, but they need to be safe as well.
